Mya & Bloom operates Mya Nails Studio and Bloom Nails and Spa in Edmonton, Alberta. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what we do with it. It is written to reflect our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
Through this website, only what you actively give us:
- Waitlist sign-ups. Your email address, optionally your first name, and the fact that you consented and when.
- Emails and calls. Whatever you choose to tell us when you get in touch.
We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Booking happens on Fresha
Appointments, payments, and gift cards are handled by Fresha, a separate company. When you click a booking link you leave this site, and the information you enter there is governed by Fresha’s own privacy policy and terms — not this one. We see the booking details Fresha shares with us as the salon, such as your name, contact details, and service history.
Embedded maps
Our location pages embed a Google Map. Loading it means your browser contacts Google, which may set cookies or record your IP address under Google’s privacy policy. The address is also written out as plain text on the page, so you never have to load the map to find us.
Why we use it
- To tell you when Bloom Nails and Spa opens, if you asked us to.
- To reply to a question you sent us.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers who help us operate — for example our booking platform and email provider — who may only use it to provide that service.
Email consent
We only email you about the opening if you ticked the consent box yourself. Every message we send identifies us, gives a way to reach us, and includes a one-click unsubscribe that we act on promptly. That is what Canada’s anti-spam legislation requires, and it is also just decent behaviour.
How long we keep it
Waitlist addresses are kept until Bloom Nails and Spa opens and the announcement has gone out, or until you unsubscribe — whichever comes first. Client records tied to appointments are kept as long as needed for the service and for the periods our accounting and health obligations require.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email myanailsstudio@outlook.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Waitlist submissions are transmitted encrypted and stored with our email provider under their security controls. No system is perfect, but we do not store payment card details on this site at any point — those never touch our servers.
